CNPC’s activities in Kazakhstan began in 1997. For more than 20 years of operation, the Corporation has invested more than 45.7 billion US dollars in the country’s oil and gas industry. Taxes and duties amounting to about 47.1 billion US dollars were paid to budgets of all levels, expenses on social projects amounted to 373 million US dollars. As of May 2019, CNPC enterprises in Kazakhstan employ more than 30,000 workers and engineering staff, while the share of local content is 98.3%.
